Could baked apples be the ultimate Autumn treat? I think so. I made these over the weekend, and they were super tasty. Whilst they cook the cinnamon made the whole house smell like Christmas the sultanas on the top caramalised into perfection. The filling would be a great thing to store away in a jar for a quick treat whenever you feel like it. Here is what I did;
You'll need:
Apples!
Sultanas
Sesame seeds
Brown sugar
Ground Cinnamon
Butter (Vitalite is my favourite dairy free butter)
Maple Syrup
1. Get your oven preheating at about 180C.
2. Cut as many apple as you'd like into halves and slice out the tough core. Be careful, I sliced open my thumb! Place each half up right in a baking tray.
3. Now onto the mix. For each apple mix the following in a cup; 1tbsp of brown sugar, 1tsp of cinnamon, 1tsp of sesame seeds, 2tbsp of sultanas. Mix up.
4. Spoon the mix into the core trough, and sprinkle a little extra on the rest of the apple. Spoon a little butter on the top and bake! They should take about 20ish minutes, but you can watch out for the topping getting nicely brown.
5. Serve up drenched in maple syrup, sprinkle with sesame. Eat!

YUMMMMMM these looks so good. I am going to have to try these out at the weekend!
