Fathers Day.

This is my Dads book. He gave me it when I was maybe 9 or 10, I think. Its full of the most amazing illustrations. I've mentioned it before but my Dad is the reason that I love and know so much about nature and animals, specifically birds. We used to refer to this book all the time when I saw something I didn't recognise, and I still do that now. There was never any bird my did didn't know everything about. I'd test him, picking a page at random and he never had any problems.

To celebrate my all-knowing Dad, today Dixon and me are hoping on the train back to my home town where we're going for a meal with my parents, my brother and his fiancees, and her parents. Here is to all Dads. Enjoy your day whatever you have planned.

Birdy dress.

// Cape - Asos via eBay // Sparrow Brooch - Kristin Stride // Duck Dress - Primark // Tights - H&M // Un-visible Chelsea boots - Asos //

I got this cape from eBay when searching for a new winter coat, I couldn't decide if I would feel dumb wearing in. And honest, I did the first couple of times, but now I really love it! It has a huuuge hood which is perfect for the crappy rainy weather we've been having. It's also surprisingly warm, but isn't so huge you feel all restricted. And my new little sparrow brooch looks SO cute perched on it. You'll have seen the dress before, when we went on a little trip. It was a great find in the hit-or-miss Primark.

Now, I'm off to make Christmas cards, do a little drawing and maybe make burritos. Hope your weekend is going great so far!

ps. sorry for the awfully lit photos, I suck at taking my own photographs.

A Little Bird Project

__________

These are little testers, I'm going to make more extravagance ones now I have the hang of it. I bought tiny beads to stitch into the wings but stupidly didn't think to check I actually had a needle thin enough. I'm also thinking of smaller buttons for the eyes. More birds per hanger and more beads on the string. What do you think?

The Little Things.

There is nothing that makes me happier than watching the boats and feeding the ducks from my balcony on a morning. The ducks see me come out, they guilt me if I don't have anything to give them, but I usually do. ♥
